London, United Kingdom – 22 December 2025 – Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), the largest leading global industry association for the blockchain and digital assets ecosystem, is delighted to announce that it has become the official partner to the United Kingdom (UK)’s All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Digital Markets and Digital Money.

GBBC will work in close partnership with the APPG’s Co-Chair, Lord Kulveer Ranger, alongside Andrew Henderson in his role as Secretariat to the APPG, to foster informed, cross-party dialogue on the future of digital markets and digital money in the UK.

The APPG covers the regulation of digital financial markets and regulated digital currencies, including retail and wholesale central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenised deposits, and stablecoins, as well as all aspects of current and emerging forms of money and payment, from cash to CBDCs. It also examines the development of the future UK and global payments landscape, with a particular focus on innovation, consumer protection, and financial stability.

Sandra Ro, CEO at GBBC shared, “As the UK and other leading economies reshape their regulatory and policy frameworks for digital markets and digital money, there has never been a more important time for constructive engagement between policymakers and industry.”

“Through this partnership with the APPG on Digital Markets and Digital Money, GBBC looks forward to bringing practical expertise from across our global membership to inform evidence‑based debate and support the UK’s ambition to be a world leader in digital finance,” added Emma Joyce, Head of EMEA at GBBC.

The Lord Ranger of Northwood commented, “The year ahead will be a defining one for digital markets and digital money, as 2025 marked a clear acceleration in the maturity, adoption and global relevance of blockchain technology and digital assets. I welcome the partnership with GBBC as it comes at a crucial moment, as policymakers grapple with how best to support innovation while safeguarding stability and consumer trust.

Blockchain-enabled digital assets are no longer a theoretical construct; they are increasingly shaping payments, capital markets and cross-border finance on an international scale. By working closely with GBBC and drawing on its unparalleled global expertise, the APPG is committed to ensuring that the UK remains at the forefront of this transformation—informing proportionate, forward-looking policy that supports growth, competitiveness and the responsible use of these technologies both at home and across global markets.”

In its role as official partner, GBBC will help convene briefings, roundtables, and evidence sessions in Parliament, drawing on its international network of members across financial services, technology, and academia. This collaboration aims to ensure that policy discussions benefit from real‑world experience of deploying blockchain and other digital technologies in markets and payments.

GBBC looks forward to inviting its members into Parliament next year to engage directly with parliamentarians and stakeholders on key questions around innovation, inclusion, competition, and the safe adoption of new forms of money and payment.
