Who We Are

Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) is the largest leading industry association for the blockchain technology and digital assets community. Launched in Davos in 2017, GBBC is a Swiss-based non-profit, with more than 500 institutional members, and 301 Ambassadors across 117 jurisdictions and disciplines. The organization is dedicated to furthering adoption of blockchain technology by convening regulators, business leaders, and global changemakers to foster collaboration and advance dialogue to create more secure, equitable, and functional societies.

GBBC includes several initiatives: GBBC Financial Services (including Post Trade Distributed Ledger (PTDL) Group), InterWork Alliance (IWA), Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI), International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL), BITA Standards Council (BITA), GBBC Labs Inc, GBBC Giving (c3), and recently, U.S. Blockchain Coalition (USBC).


InterWork Alliance (IWA)

InterWork Alliance (IWA), an initiative of GBBC, empowers organizations to adopt and use token-powered services in their day-to-day operations, across use cases and networks, bringing inclusivity to globally distributed applications.


BITA Standards Council (BITA)

BITA Standards Council (BITA) is GBBC's global transportation and commerce initiative, consisting of global companies with a shared vision to leverage blockchain to define and grow open-source supply chain standards.


U.S. Blockchain Coalition (USBC)

USBC, an initiative of GBBC, led by representatives from Texas, Washington, California, Florida, Virginia, Alabama, and Pennsylvania, highlights and catalogs use cases, provides education to policymakers, builds relationships with regulators, and proactively partnerships to meaningfully grow the blockchain sector across the U.S.


GBBC Giving

GBBC Giving, a nonprofit under the aegis of the GBBC, is dedicated to galvanizing support amongst the blockchain and digital asset community to empower underserved communities globally to mitigate the widening digital divide and democratize access to opportunity.


International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL)

Since 2021, GBBC has been releasing the International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL), an open access online journal written and edited by lawyers, that is designed to help business and non-legal communities better understand the world of blockchain and digital assets.

GBBC Financial Services is the global voice for those in the financial services sector using blockchain technology. As innovation creates a fast-evolving financial architecture, we gather the sector and different stakeholders, ensuring our members are part of the right conversations.
