DeCenter Workshop: New Applications for Blockchain in Energy and Environment

Apr 29 - Apr 30, 2026

Location IconPrinceton, NJ, USA

What if the same technologies reshaping finance could help rewire how we produce, distribute, and manage energy? On April 29, Princeton University will host a DeCenter Workshop exploring how blockchain is emerging as a new coordination layer for some of the world’s most complex systems, from power grids to climate infrastructure.

This convening will unite researchers, technologists, and industry practitioners, the workshop will examine everything from decentralized energy markets and renewable infrastructure to data centers, environmental sensing, and peer-to-peer resilience models. GBBC’s Diana Oreto (Barrero Zalles), Head of GSMI and Research, will be participating in the discussions, contributing to conversations at the intersection of blockchain, sustainability, and real-world implementation.

The future of energy may not just be cleaner, it may be coordinated differently.
